In a future commercial corridor and between residential zones very different from each other, this station and the urban intervention that accompanies it seeks to connect the community through accessible, quality and recreational spaces for the neighbors. In addition of turning a vacant lot with a neglected stream into a park with diverse areas of social encounter and ample greenery, the project also integrates the new options of mobility incorporated by the station with a program of spaces specifically located to reinforce the sense of community around it —through restaurants, local shops, daycare, library and arcade.
This diverse program takes form in various glass-covered volumes, connected through a second skin with characteristic panels of perforated weathered steel and suspended cables populated with climbing plants; a second skin system that not only forms the facade, but also generates the space for a circulation based on ramps across the entire station and park —emphasizing the importance of the accessibility of the experience of the project.
