The urban fragmentation in the neighborhood around the Plazas de los Enamorados, del Chorro and de la Luz persists and continues to be aggravated by the growing number of empty homes, along with an absence of both green areas and care for the historical heritage in the area. In response, this proposal works at several scales to improve and expand the public space for the entire community.

Firstly, it is proposed to re-organize the streets and their flows to achieve pedestrian super-blocks that integrate new greenery in the public space. Additionally, existing buildings are to be intervened to generate new types of blocks that allow a medium re-densification of the neighborhood, featuring a ground floor with new commercial uses and new courtyards for the community in some of them. Finally, the public space is organized into modules with native vegetation, urban gardens and valuable spaces of coexistence in the open air; which reinforce the connection between the neighbors, as well as the use and care of these shared spaces.
